I’ve been really happy here!
I’ve been really happy here! The apartments have so much character and management has been very responsive. Whenever I submit a maintenance request it always handled in a timely fashion. Plus, I appreciate the in-suite washer and dryer, dishwasher, free parking and no pet fee! I was a little nervous given older reviews about past management, but I have had an excellent experience with new management.
Overall I like the apartment a lot.
It is an older apartment so there have been some things that needed to be fixed, but when I put in a work order they are very fast to fix the things. Overall I like the apartment a lot. It is close to a grocery store and some restaurants as well as a couple RTA stops which is convenient. The only big change I would make is getting another wifi service (the apartment comes with wifi included) because the wifi is not good.

I have lived here for over a year….
I have lived here for over a year and really enjoy it. The location is amazing, as there are many restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance, as well as Case’s campus. Management does an excellent job with dealing with any maintenance requests almost always within the first 24 hours of submitting a problem, and always follows up on any issues I have.
The apartments have beautiful hardwood
It’s hard to find a greater value in the heights. The apartments have beautiful hardwood and 10’ ceilings. The in unit washer and dryer are a huge plus, as is the readily available parking. Repairs are made quickly and the maintenance guys are really nice. Management has been helpful to us, although our interactions are limited. We love it here, and can’t imagine leaving
Overall, a great experience so far at Heights Apartments
Overall, a great experience so far at Heights Apartments at Cedar Fairmount. Any required maintenance was quickly attended to and carried out professionally. What drew myself and my roommate to this building were the free wifi, parking, and in suite laundry. So far the only thing that has bothered us has been the inconsistent hot water, but that seems to only be a problem intermittently. The bike storage is also a great bonus if you don’t drive everywhere. It is a beautiful old building that has been taken care of well over the years.

Old building but very comfortable apartment…
Old building but very comfortable apartment, with some recent renovations as well. I had options for garage and lot parking, as well as the option for in-unit laundry and drying, which is very convenient and affordable. Heating and AC are reliable. The building is not too noisy, and tenants I have met are friendly and polite. Landlord has been helpful and courteous, and maintenance is pretty quick to respond to any issues or questions. Only thing I can think of improving is the building wifi coverage in certain areas, but considering that it is free and there are limited ISPs in the area it is a pretty good deal. I am able to work/stream movies online without any issues.
As a student the location can’t be beat, as I am close enough to walk or quickly drive to Little Italy, Case Western Reserve University, and the shops on Coventry. The neighborhood is very pretty and friendly.
I like living here. Granted
I originally was cautious about living here due to some of the alarming reviews I read about the property and management. Fortunately, it appears that it is under new management since those reviews were posted.
I like living here. Granted, it is a little more expensive compared to some of the surrounding properties I considered ($900/mo for 1BR), but the convenience of being able to walk to CWRU campus (I am a student there) or to Dave’s Market or Barrio, for instance, mostly offsets that. I also appreciate that the building itself is quiet, despite being near fairly busy roads (i.e. Cedar).
The 1BR apartment itself is spacious, which I very much enjoy. Having an in-suite washer and dryer is also convenient to have in addition to a dishwasher and gas stove (I hate cooking on electric stoves). Water and sewer are paid for, so I pay for electricity and natural gas. WiFi and parking are also paid for, provided you remain in good financial standing. (I do admit, however, that the underground parking garage poses a bit of a fun challenge to maneuver down!)
Because it’s an old building, there are a few problems, such as leaky pipes or occasional weird smells. Luckily, maintenance responds in a fairly timely manner. I had a massive leak from my bathroom ceiling, and while maintenance couldn’t be there that night, they fixed it the following morning.
So far, I have enjoyed living at this property (2374). Despite the minor issues bound to arise from living in an old building, the convenience and quietness as well as the amenities provided have thus far proven sufficient for me.
Very large one bedroom apartment with multiple areas for storage in the space
Pros of living in Cedar Fairmount:
– Very large one bedroom apartment with multiple areas for storage in the space
– There is a covered parking garage that is included in your rent
– WiFi is included in the rent and is really good WiFi
– There is only a $100 deposit to have a pet and no additional rent towards the pet (cats or dogs)
– Maintenance is very quick and they have an online portal for submitting requests
– There is a washer, dryer, and dishwasher in the unit
– There is free storage in the building
– The apartment is very quiet!
– It is a 15-20 minute walk to Case Western Reserve University
– There is a Dave’s Market across the street and many other local and chain restaurants in walking distance
– There is a little gym in the building though you have to pay $25 to be able to get a key and it was advertised as free
Cons of living in Cedar Fairmount:
– The electricity and gas bills are a bit outrageous during the winter months (around $200+ with the 2 combined)
– The parking garage is very VERY narrow and small and is truly an event trying to get in and out of it (I would not suggest having a larger car or a car that is low to the ground if you are considering living here)
– The washing machine is very odd; it works fine but you have to connect it to your sink and it splatters water everywhere as it is in use. Also, you can’t use the sink or dishwasher while using it
– The rent is fairly high for the age of the building ($900/ one bdr) but it is quite spacious and has some included utilities as mentioned above
– The heaters are base board heaters and it is tough to heat your apartment since the windows are very cold (though maintenance did put up a plastic covering for the cold but it still can be very chilly)
– The stove is pretty difficult because it is so old; there is no way of knowing how hot the stove is because there is no labeling on the knobs
– They only accept checks in a mailbox, no online portal for paying

The new management has done a great job
I have had no serious issues in the few months I have stayed here. The new management has done a great job accommodating my requests and the location/suites are very good. Heating is not the most efficient and noise can be a small issue compared to other apartments in the area but that is about it.
