– Very large one bedroom apartment with multiple areas for storage in the space
– There is a covered parking garage that is included in your rent
– WiFi is included in the rent and is really good WiFi
– There is only a $100 deposit to have a pet and no additional rent towards the pet (cats or dogs)
– Maintenance is very quick and they have an online portal for submitting requests
– There is a washer, dryer, and dishwasher in the unit
– There is free storage in the building
– The apartment is very quiet!
– It is a 15-20 minute walk to Case Western Reserve University
– There is a Dave’s Market across the street and many other local and chain restaurants in walking distance
– There is a little gym in the building though you have to pay $25 to be able to get a key and it was advertised as free
Cons of living in Cedar Fairmount:
– The electricity and gas bills are a bit outrageous during the winter months (around $200+ with the 2 combined)
– The parking garage is very VERY narrow and small and is truly an event trying to get in and out of it (I would not suggest having a larger car or a car that is low to the ground if you are considering living here)
– The washing machine is very odd; it works fine but you have to connect it to your sink and it splatters water everywhere as it is in use. Also, you can’t use the sink or dishwasher while using it
– The rent is fairly high for the age of the building ($900/ one bdr) but it is quite spacious and has some included utilities as mentioned above
– The heaters are base board heaters and it is tough to heat your apartment since the windows are very cold (though maintenance did put up a plastic covering for the cold but it still can be very chilly)
– The stove is pretty difficult because it is so old; there is no way of knowing how hot the stove is because there is no labeling on the knobs
– They only accept checks in a mailbox, no online portal for paying

Any required maintenance was quickly attended to and carried out professionally. What drew myself and my roommate to this building were the free wifi, parking, and in suite laundry. So far the only thing that has bothered us has been the inconsistent hot water, but that seems to only be a problem intermittently. The bike storage is also a great bonus if you don’t drive everywhere. It is a beautiful old building that has been taken care of well over the years.

I’m very happy here.
Best location and excellent and very prompt maintence crew. Old, but kept up really nicely. I’m very happy here.
I had a very positive experience living in this apartment.
I had a very positive experience living in this apartment. In-unit washer/dryer and dishwasher were very convenient, as was garage parking during the winter. Maintenance issues were always addressed very promptly.
I like living here. Granted
I originally was cautious about living here due to some of the alarming reviews I read about the property and management. Fortunately, it appears that it is under new management since those reviews were posted. I like living here. I like living here. Granted, it is a little more expensive compared to some of the surrounding properties I considered ($900/mo for 1BR), but the convenience of being able to walk to CWRU campus (I am a student there) or to Dave’s Market or Barrio, for instance, mostly offsets that. I also appreciate that the building itself is quiet, despite being near fairly busy roads (i.e. Cedar).
The 1BR apartment itself is spacious, which I very much enjoy. Having an in-suite washer and dryer is also convenient to have in addition to a dishwasher and gas stove (I hate cooking on electric stoves). Water and sewer are paid for, so I pay for electricity and natural gas. WiFi and parking are also paid for, provided you remain in good financial standing. (I do admit, however, that the underground parking garage poses a bit of a fun challenge to maneuver down!)
Because it’s an old building, there are a few problems, such as leaky pipes or occasional weird smells. Luckily, maintenance responds in a fairly timely manner. I had a massive leak from my bathroom ceiling, and while maintenance couldn’t be there that night, they fixed it the following morning.
So far, I have enjoyed living at this property (2374). Despite the minor issues bound to arise from living in an old building, the convenience and quietness as well as the amenities provided have thus far proven sufficient for me.

Overall I like the apartment a lot.

Overall I like the apartment a lot. It is close to a grocery store and some restaurants as well as a couple RTA stops which is convenient. The only big change I would make is getting another wifi service (the apartment comes with wifi included) because the wifi is not good.

I had options for garage and lot parking, as well as the option for in-unit laundry and drying, which is very convenient and affordable. Heating and AC are reliable. The building is not too noisy, and tenants I have met are friendly and polite. Landlord has been helpful and courteous, and maintenance is pretty quick to respond to any issues or questions. Only thing I can think of improving is the building wifi coverage in certain areas, but considering that it is free and there are limited ISPs in the area it is a pretty good deal. I am able to work/stream movies online without any issues.
As a student the location can’t be beat, as I am close enough to walk or quickly drive to Little Italy, Case Western Reserve University, and the shops on Coventry. The neighborhood is very pretty and friendly.

The Heights on Overlook is a great place to live.
The Heights on Overlook is a great place to live. Since it is located right by Little Italy, you’re never more than a five minute walk from pizza. The building is clean and quiet, and maintenance is very responsive to any requests made. Very happy to be here!
This is a wonderful building
This is a wonderful building. It is well maintained, the lawn in always mowed and the hallways are vacuumed regularly. Parking is right by the building which is a nice convenience in this area. My experience here has been great and the building is dog friendly and that’s a big plus for me.
Location is great
This is my second year live at this apartment. I got it the last minute last September. I was searching an apartment to live while moving all my belongings to Cleveland. Stephen and Alan, the landlord are super helpful, and I moved in right way. Even though the summer is quite hot for me because… I live at the highest floor, the atmosphere is pretty good. I especially enjoy to having dish washer, washer and dryer, of course free wifi in my apartment. Location is great, I work at Case Western Reserve University, so from my apartment to school is only 20 minutes walk. I like it. Read more “Location is great”
The 1-bedrooms are a good size with a convenient layout
I lived in a top floor 1-bedroom for three years. Apartment provided nice views and plenty of light. The building is situated in a very convenient location, especially for someone choosing to live without a car for a while. I was able to bike or walk to everything I needed in the area. The 1-bedrooms… are a good size with a convenient layout and an eat-in kitchen. Perfect size for what I needed. Plenty of heat in the winter, as well as hot water and great water pressure! Free Wi-Fi was a plus, too. Enjoyed my time in the building and Cleveland Heights. Read more “The 1-bedrooms are a good size with a convenient layout”
I have had a wonderful experience as a tenant.
I have had a wonderful experience as a tenant. This apartment is in such a beautiful neighborhood and close to everything including dining, museums and many other cultural activities. It is within walking distance from many University Hospitals and Cleveland Clinic facilities. I feel very safe here. The apartment is charming with all wood floors… and lots of windows for sunlight. I think one of the best features of this management is maintenance. I haven’t needed a lot done, but when I do, they are prompt and very accommodating. I’ve had a great experience! FREE Wi-Fi, FREE Water, FREE Heat
Heights Apartments on Overlook Rd. has been a great experience so far. FREE Wi-Fi, FREE Water, FREE Heat, Washer & Dryer In-Unit. When we moved in, the apartment was clean and ready for use. The maintenance is very responsive and emergency maintenance came to fix an electric issue on a Sunday evening with little delay.… Parking is next to the building and trash is out back — convenient. Currently live in a 1-Bedroom 3-series and it is a perfect, manageable space for two people to live together. This has been easy to acustom to as new residents. Rent is very reasonable shared between two people! Read more “FREE Wi-Fi, FREE Water, FREE Heat”

This apartment is in the BEST location for Cleveland Clinic employees and Case Western students. In-suite washer and dryer for a working professional and groceries are a 10 min walk! Living for 2+ years!
I love the more rustic/vintage vibe
Great one bedroom apartment, I love the more rustic/vintage vibe that it gives and the location is also super convenient. It is a very quiet neighborhood as well. Only issue that I’ve had is that my bedroom/bathroom do not close, so I wish that they were more attentive to that before they rented out the… apartment Read more “I love the more rustic/vintage vibe”
I must say that the room is pretty big
I just move in this August, I must say that the room is pretty big ,the room is newly painted and the walk in closets are enough for all my clothes. I choose this apartment because it have washer and dryer (which most Apt in Cleveland does not!) The wooden flooring is creaky but its… okay for me. The Apt is usually quiet enough and close to CWRU. Also it is in a pretty safe area which is nice. Read more “I must say that the room is pretty big”
